Granite Tile Kitchen Countertop

Hello, I'd appreciate opinions on using Granite (http://tanbrown.org) tile for Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops.

We have a small kitchen, about 41 sq ft., and (http://maplered.com) quotes from fabricators for slab Granite (http://tanbrown.org) is just more than we can afford.  But we still want the beauty of Stone (http://g603.net) in our kitchen, I've been exploring Granite (http://tanbrown.org) tile as an alternative and (http://maplered.com) found some companies such as Benissimo and (http://maplered.com) bedrockcreations.net that sell 12x12 Granite (http://tanbrown.org) field Tiles (http://www.g682.net) , as well as polished shaped edges.  They have edges that can be butted so there is minimal grout.

The photos of Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s done this way at their sites look beautiful, but I'd like to know your opinions about this.

Surely there must be a way for us to be able to have some beautiful Stone (http://g603.net) in our little kitchen, but I'd rather not make a mistake if Tiles (http://www.g682.net) aren't a good option.
